14. Kurt Gottfried and Tung-Mow Yan, Physics

Quantum Mechanics: Fundamentals (Springer Verlag, 2003). This classic text is a comprehensive exposition of the concepts and techniques in quantum mechanics. The authors treat phenomena in a sufficiently simple manner to allow students to readily assess the validity of the models so that attention is not deflected from the heart of the subject. To this end, the authors concentrate on systems that can either be solved exactly or handled by well-controlled, plausible approximations.
